SANTA ANA, Calif. ? A woman has appeared in a California court on a charge of murdering her 7-month-old son by pushing him off an upper floor of a parking structure.
Sonia Hermosillo was brought to Orange County Superior Court in Santa Ana on Monday in a wheelchair, with her hands cuffed.
Hermosillo is charged with murder and assault on a child with force likely to produce great bodily injury resulting in death.
Her attorney told the court she doesn't understand why she can't go home, but she agreed to postponement of her arraignment to Sept. 30.
Her husband Noe Medina has said she suffered postpartum depression and didn't know what she was doing.
Prosecutors contend Hermosillo was aware of her actions.
