The Position:To research, analyse and summarise market and product intelligence on the global leisure, incentive, cruise, conference and exhibition market segments, for use by the department||s senior management to define long-term strategies. To define and recommend AA||s short-and-medium-term product and business development strategies that will support the long-term plans, aimed at consistently increasing Emirates||, Arabian Adventures||(AA) and Dubai||s profitable shares of these market segments.
Job Outline
- Implements and monitors these strategies once approved,and recommends adjustments/adaptation according to shifting market trends.
- Organises the research, analysis and summary of market and product intelligence on the relevant market segments in various markets, including the profile and performance of AA||s customers and of other market ?player? in the travel trade, in order to ensure early identification and potential problem areas, and to ensure the latest information is always available within the department||s marketing database.
- According to identified opportunities, recommends short-and-medium- term marketing strategies ? including participation in yearly budget preparation ? to support AA||s objectives, including market-specific growth plan and revenue targets, yield improvement and costs.
- Analyses and researches products, to meet the anticipated needs of customers according to individual market requirements. Plans, implements and monitors the marketing of AA||s product range to ensure maximum market exposure, market compatibility and high service standards, to secure incremental revenue and to ensure that the unit||s targets in terms of market share, yield and customer satisfaction are met.
- Gathers and evaluates information on competitors|| activities to ensure AA maintains its competitive edge in terms of service levels and product innovation.
- Provides comprehensive marketing, sales and logistical support to AA||s customers and to EK world-wide offices in order to enhance Dubai||s image as a quality destination and AA||s reputation as a quality service provider. This includes the production of newsletters, the organisation and accompanying of inspection / familiarisation / press trips, product presentations to clients on sales trips and at travel shows.
- In conjunction with the department||s management, the Planning unit and Corporate Communications department, develops and co-ordinates the production of all AA promotional, collateral and advertising material, including AA||s Internet site, in-keeping with the corporate image, and supervises and co-ordinates all advertising and promotional campaigns to ensure maximum effectiveness within allocated budgets.
- Maintains effective contact with all suppliers on a regular basis to obtain their financial and/or technical support towards brochure production, promotions, client and media familiarisation trips and inspection visits.
- Promotes the airline and AA||s services, as well as Dubai and the Gulf region, at every opportunity, in particular with the media and travel industry professionals, to increase awareness among both travel and public and to benefit from enhanced co-operation from the travel trade.

Experience and Qualifications:
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
- Specialised Knowledge
- A proven ability to exercise judgement and decision making in the promotion of travel related services, airline and DMC products. An excellent knowledge of the tourism markets and of the players (Tour Operators, Incentive Houses). Clear knowledge and understanding of the tourism industry. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Additional languages will be a distinct advantage. Excellent presentation, analytical and report writing skills. Computer literate.
Experience -?Minimum of 5 years in the Travel or Tourism Industry, in a Marketing or Sales capacity.
Training -?Any airline or leisure related courses are an advantage, particularly in the areas of sales and marketing.
Qualifications -?Degree in Marketing or Business Administration, alternatively, seven to ten years experience with a proven track record in the travel or leisure industry, in a marketing or sales capacity, with General Certificate level education.
Additional -?Systematic and logical approach to problem solving and a capability to work around problems. Good creative and lateral thinking skills. A strong team player, capable of seeing and understanding the bigger picture and actively contributing to that result. Self-motivated, highly organised, pro-active and flexible. Well groomed, high sociable in a multi-national and cultural environment. Tactful and mature disposition. Must be diplomatic and capable of performing well under pressure.
