Our client is a major, blue-chip international sports media company, and this role is working on their renowned cricket-related website.

As assistant web editor, you?ll work alongside the UK editor, and will be responsible for the ongoing upkeep and management of the site. You?ll help to ensure editorial standards are maintained, and that new technology and products are efficiently implemented.

Specific duties will include:

  • Planning and implementing features and interviews, and pushing the scope of the site?s UK coverage
  • Writing, sourcing material, uploading of third-party content and audio, video and photo management
  • Overseeing maintenance of blogs, fantasy and other ancillary products
  • Covering events either from the office or live, and also being available and able to travel to assignments.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • An excellent knowledge of English domestic and all top-level international cricket, and the ability to use existing technology and adapt to future changes
  • A journalistic qualification or two years? experience of working on a news desk, preferable web-based
  • An ability to write accurately and coherently under pressure, as well as some online experience.
